NADPH is a phosphorylated derivative at the 2'- position of the ribose ring system linked to adenine in nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD), which participates in many anabolic reactions, such as the synthesis of lipids, fatty acids and nucleotides. In these reactions, NADPH is needed as a reducing agent and a donor of anion.
It can be used for the synthesis of pharmaceutical intermediates and raw materials, mainly in combination with catalytic enzymes, and is currently mainly studied in laboratory.
